While a recent LA Times article painted a grim portrait of the music industry, the gang at Techdirt says not so fast. The blog retorts: ”

…there’s confusion between the recording industry and the music industry. Yes, it may be true that the outlook for selling plastic discs or downloads may not look so hot, but that’s hardly everything that encompasses the music industry — and claiming otherwise is not at all accurate.” Techdirt even links back to an original post that references UK economists’ theory that the industry across the pond is actually getting bigger.
