Last night a bunch of us met up at Soho House for drinks to discuss our strategy for 2010.  Unfortunately, Toby Daniels couldn’t make it because he was busy planning Social Media Week for SIX cities and Chris Phenner was busy being a Daddy since his son Will was born on January 7th at 10:40am.

However, for the rest of us, we had tons to talk about.  We welcomed Peg Samuel to the board (she hooked it up with Soho House) who founded and runs the extremely successful company Social DivaJesse Kirshbaum, Emily Gannett, Diego Vargas, Matt Graham, and me had a great chat about who the panelists should be for our Social Media Week event.  We got the venue (I ain’t telling just yet), but we’re still on the fence about panelists, so please comment or email me suggestions.  Also, we’re already thinking ahead to SXSW in March….big things.

But it wasn’t all business.  I had a great convo with Matt Maysonet and Diego about up-and-comers in hip-hop.  A few board members came up to me and said that they stopped using biz cards after they read my Contxts article, which was great to hear.  Corey Llewellyn just got back from CES and was telling us about all the crazy gadgets that are already made or are being developed like the 3-D TV.

All things considered, it was a lot of fun meeting some of the other folks for the first time and catching up with the others who I haven’t seen since before the New Year.  2010 will be a huge year for SoundCtrl.  Stay tuned for more!
