So the Beatles are on iTunes. That in and of itself is pretty damn newsworthy.

However, people have been dodging some questions that I find more interesting.

  1. Why this year–money, embracing technology, making things easier for fans, a threatening push from EMI? (note:  I get that it deals with proximity to the holiday season, but why this year specifically)
  2. What is the rev share between Apple, EMI, and the Beatles?
  3. Was there a signing bonus for the Beatles payed out by EMI or Apple?
  4. Who initiated the conversation or were they in constant negotiation since the iTunes store started?
  5. Why exclusively on iTunes instead of Amazon and other digital retailers?
  6. What are sales projections for the end of the year?
  7. Are they going to sell creative digital packages or just sell tracks and albums? (note: as of now, I could only find a boxed set and 4-minute documentary videos for when someone buys a whole album)
  8. What will be the top songs and albums by the end of the year? (note:  as of  now,  the top song is Here Comes the Sun and the top album is Abbey Road)

Does anyone have answers or informed guesses to these?  If so, comment below.
