Fellow SoundCtrler Jesse K hipped me to this new internet radio app AudioVroom (powered by The Echo Nest and 7Digital).  I downloaded it, poked around a bit, and took some screen shots.

1.  The layout is aesthetically cool.  It reminds me of the 70′s and the future combined.

2.  They synched with Bump, so you can share you favorite songs with your friends and people you just met.

3.  You can track down “DJ’s” nearby and see what they’re listening to; however, it takes forever to do this.  Either nobody in Brooklyn has AudioVroom or this function is wonky.

4.  You get points for engaging in the app (Love, WTF?, or Fail), but you also lose points as you listen.  In addition, you can buy points from a store.  However, you can’t share tracks with your social networks, which might hinder exposure of the app.

5.  I chose Built to Spill as the Artist to test out the app.  The recommendations, although were good, had little or no connection to the indie rocking of BTS with few exceptions like Sonic Youth.

Overall, cool app.  Could use a few updates for the 2.0 version, but we’ll see what tweaks they can make.  Only time will tell.
