BandPage and Rdio Announce Global Partnership
BandPage, the centralized profile platform for musicians, and Rdio, the subscription music streaming service, have announced a partnership that will bring artist content to a growing base of fans and new listeners.
BandPage works for musicians by amalgamating various social media and content hosting sites on one page. While the BandPage’s design is modest for the artist profile pages, the platform is very functional for consolidating videos and music from Vevo and Youtube, as well as images, tour dates, and biographies. BandPage also hosts various sorts of contests and events in which fans can participate to buy or win exclusive merchandise, art, or experiences. This data is useful to Rdio, which can now populate its artist pages with profiles and create new revenue streams for artists with buy links for music, tickets, and merch.
The integration will extend to mobile versions of Rdio as well, with the promise of new opportunities to share and promote more content as the two platforms expand in the future.
