I got a chance to check out TechCrunch Disrupt this week in NYC. As always, it was an excellently produced event. The venue was at Pier 94, right on the West Side Highway. The crowd was a who’s who in New York Starts Ups, as well as a whole bunch of startups with dreams of making it big.

Just like last year, I got to see our friend Fred Wilson, while TechCrunch’s Mike Arrington asked him some tough questions. I also caught interviews with Dave Karp (founder, Tumblr), Brad Garlinghouse (CEO, YouSendIt), and Jason Goldberg from FAB who also wrote the infamous Peanut Butter Manefisto while at Yahoo.

The following day, I saw John Borthwick (founder, Betaworks), Roelof Botha from Sequoia VC, and a cool new media panel that featured Henry Blodget (Business Insider) Gabe Rivera (Techmeme) and Johna Peretti (BuzzFeed).

But I can’t do a review of these panels better than our friends at Silicon Alley Insider and TechCrunch itself.

At this year’s Disrupt, I’m disappointed to say there seemed to be a general lack of coverage of the music:tech space. There were some bright spots, however. Incident Technologies debuted their gTar, which has taken Kickstarter by storm, doubling their fundraising goal of $100,000 in days. We got to see Bedphones, headphones designed to wear while you sleep.

Vinylmint was also a promising addition. The company, based out of Norfolk, has a cool platform for collaboration and transferring of files. Look for a SoundCtrl interview with them coming soon.
