The team of music lovers out of Dublin couldn’t have named their app more appropriately if they tried. The waves of positive change for Soundwave just keep on coming and it looks like the company has got some serious momentum with their newest and (one of their most personalizing) updates since moving from beta to public launch, which we covered back in June.
Announced and released live just yesterday, Soundwave’s latest update packs a wallop of evolution for its users to enjoy: four major changes or additions to be exact. While it might have seemed as though there was no way to further improve upon an app that lets you peruse the world’s music down to street level, these user-minded programmers and creatives have done just that. Here’s a basic breakdown of how the Soundwave app has been transformed:
Global App Song History: Developed with a touch of Twitter’s tweet search in mind, this feature pulls up a list of users who have most recently listened to, liked or disliked a track displayed in your feed or found on the music map. Call it an even more finely tuned and up-close way of staying keyed into the up-to-the-minute musical tastes of the world. Serves as a great way to see if anyone else has heard of that really underground band you alone have loved since junior high!
New player integration: Soundwave is ideally aiming to have their app pick up on song plays from all the major playback mediums out there. Integration of the 8tracks radio player is one more step in that direction!
Modify Profile Location: Truly moving globe trotters can now change their listed profile location manually within the app’s settings menu.
Make your Soundwave “Claim to Fame”: Channeling another small but meaningful Twitter-esque tidbit, Soundwavers can now compose a brief bio or simply celebrate their favorite artists and genres, in a mini headline known as a “claim to fame.” Users can slide to view these while looking at a person’s main profile information.
If you haven’t checked out what Soundwave is all about yet, you can get the updated app for free through the Google Play Store and iTunes App Store now. Soundwave’s staff is also constantly communicating their thoughts, songs, works in progress and new contests via their Twitter and Facebook pages!
