Frank Zappa Now Available on iTunes

by Dave Mainella

A large portion of Frank Zappa’s music is now available for download on iTunes.  In a Beatles-like holdout of the digital download world, the Zappa Family Trust and Universal Music Enterprises finally reached a licensing agreement to include the Zappa catalog on Apple’s popular music service.

Universal plans on eventually releasing the music on streaming services like Spotify, Rdio, and Rhapsody as well. Zappa has already been added to Spotify in the UK.

The available catalog includes over 50 albums, with several remastered releases.  A whole new generation of listeners now have digital access to the likes of “Absolutely Free”, “Uncle Meat”, and “Sheik Yerbouti”, among the many other Zappa classics.
