Blast from the past: Frank Zappa on censorship

Posted on | September 9, 2010 | No Comments

It’s funny that “vulgarity” and “explicit language” in music was a big issue in the 80’s and 90’s.  NOW, the issue is that everyone is stealing the music.  And if obscenities weren’t an issue, Cee Lo’s “FUCK YOU” wouldn’t be a top selling song.  What Frank Zappa, one of my favorite musicians, had to say in ‘86 on “Crossfire” is so obvious to us now, but back then, he was seen as offensive and shocking.  However, a lot of what he’s saying is fairly applicable towards music’s current issues, so check it out.
