Atomic Tom iPhone music video

At two weeks+ old, this is fairly old news as far as the Internet is concerned, but it’s still newsworthy enough to post.
Backystory: New York indie rockers Atomic Tom had their instruments stolen from them before the video shoot for their new single “Take Me Out”. The band’s guitarist’s brother came up with the idea to use the iPhone apps Shred, Drum Meister, Pocket Guitar and Microphone to recreate the sound of their instruments on a New York subway. Their label, Universal Republic, approved the concept and now they have 3.3M hits on a video that probably cost them $10 just so they could purchase the apps.
Verdict: They’re definitely not the best band to come out of New York, but as far as creativity with their video content is concerned, they’re up there with OK Go. However, we’ll see what they come up with for their follow up music video.
