The lack of compatibility between Apple and other mobile products is one of the first problems that comes to mind when considering switching over from Apple to Android. With the fierce competition between the two tech giants, it’s clear that they’re not going to want to change that anytime soon. Luckily for us, there are third-party apps out there dedicated to making our lives a little easier.

iSyncr is a perfect example of this; the app allows you to sync your iTunes playlist straight to your Android devices with little hassle. iSyncr can be downloaded from the Google Play store, in both a free and a pro version, enabling you to sync your device to your computer through the application.

After you open the app on your Android device, you’ll be prompted to download the desktop app. There are two builds dedicated to syncing Android 2.3 and below, and Android 3.0 and above, as well as Windows and Mac versions for each build, which may be a little confusing for any newbie tech users, but if you’re familiar with the operating systems you use, it shouldn’t be a problem.

Once you’ve downloaded both the Android application and the desktop program, syncing your two devices will be as simple as plugging your Android phone or tablet into the computer. Once connected, iSyncr will guide you through the rest.

The lite version only allows you to copy up to 30 songs at once, and won’t sync any songs if you go over that limit, which can be a little frustrating when syncing your iTunes library for the first time. Unlocking the full version will give you access to unlimited syncing to your device, making the job stress-free, and for only $2.99, it’s well worth the price if you regularly use iTunes to listen and download your music.

Usually the program runs without any issues, working with most devices every time, but occasionally you may come across a few hiccups. If you come across an error, iSyncr will usually display an error message, and the iTunes sync will most likely stop. The developer of iSyncr seems quite determined to fix the errors and there are many references to contacting the developer for support throughout the Android application and PC program. It’s reassuring to know that the developer is only a few clicks away when things aren’t working how they’re designed to.

On top of the media sync application, there’s also a wifi add-on that allows you to sync your iTunes playlist without the need of wires, and a standalone media player that works with iTunes to keep track of your songs total plays, as well as other information that would otherwise not be updated without the help of an Apple device. The wifi app is especially handy for when you’re spending time away from the computer screen, or you’d like to keep a comfortable cable-free space to sit at.
