For those of you who remember, SoundCtrl honored the Hype Machine last year for FlashFWD.  They’ve recently released their own app called Hype Machine Radio.

I took a few screenshots, so people could get a good idea of it’s layout and explain it’s overall functionality.

Hype Radio Homepage

Above is the homepage for the app.  The app aims for discovery, so don’t expect to be able to search for specific songs or artists.  The best you can do is target a specific blog or genre, which you’re feeling, so press play and enjoy yourself.  For example, below is a screenshot of the “dubstep” channel and it displays the UI for a song that’s playing.

Hype Radio song interface

Above you can see that you can “heart” the song as well as even purchase it (see iTunes logo).  If you click the folded piece of paper it takes you to information, which is displayed below.

Hype Radio blog post

When you click information, it takes you to the original post where the song was embedded.

Overall, it’s totally worth the $2.99.  There’s no ads, so you can engage with your favorite music blogs and discover new music in peace.  More info here.
